There’s something to be said about true love. Truly. You can love without being ‘in love.’ They are wildly confused. You honestly have to know what both feel like to be able to differentiate between the two. People go a lifetime without ever knowing. And when you know, you just know. There’s no question. No questioning whether this person would drop everything for anything or nothing. Would ever leave you. Would ever betray you. Would ever hurt you beyond recognition. Because they wouldn’t. Ever. You know in your soul.
This doesn’t mean that you won’t ever get hurt or disappointed. But there’s a special comfort in knowing that no matter the hardship or pain, argument or struggle; this person will fight the same battle. They never leave your side. They want to find triumph just as much as you do. It might be one of the greatest feelings in the world: the knowing.
